What You Will Find

  • Asia - Visit a land of natural beauty and wonder, rich with imagination and surprises.
  • Europe - Filled with exciting attractions and edge-of-your-seat action, Europe is perfect for the thrill seekers in your family. Where else can you find Shakespeare and Cervantes right next door?
  • Africa - From Aesop's Fables to Ancient Egypt, Africa will take you on an unforgettable adventure.
  • South America - Embark on a thrilling journey through the untamed jungle. You never know what mysterious adventure awaits just around the next corner!
  • World's Fair - It's the turn of the century! Amuse yourself as you experience the olden days, when our commonplace inventions were fascinating new discoveries. (Trivia: This section of the park is modeled after the 1904 World's Fair, where new inventions were put on display, such as the Ferris Wheel…..and even the ice cream cone!)
  • Mystery Island - let your imagination run wild



1. Paul Bunyan's Logging Adventure - Take a ride on logging trucks working at Paul Bunyan's new lumber mill. You'll come away with tall tales so big, your own family won't believe you!

2. Niagara Falls - Based on the Native American folktale of how the landmark was created, this adventure will take you on a ten-minute journey with a young girl and her friend the Water Spirit. But beware! Evil forces are at work, and you're stuck between the ultimate battle of good and evil! Will you survive when the battle sends you over the edge of a 121-foot drop to the frigid waters below?

3. The Ghosts of Washington Irving - Find yourself in the middle of some of American writer Washington Irving's classic stories in this terrifying walk-through attraction. Keep a watchful eye out for the dreaded Headless Horseman...rumor has it he frequents these hallowed grounds.

5. Act!vated Story Park Monorail - Take an underground monorail ride to another section of the park.

6. The Iron Dragon - This Chinese-American folktale will take you on a thrilling roller coaster ride through the haunted Sierra Nevada Mountains. Will you escape...or will you be the next victim of The Iron Dragon?

7. The Knee-High Man - Get lost in this interactive maze with the Knee-High Man as he searches for some way to grow taller.

8. Journey of the Starflower - Plunge to Earth in an exciting ride based on the story of a star who falls from the sky and gets stuck on Earth.


A. Pecos Bill's Chow Barn - Larger-than-life portions for larger-than life appetites! Serving burgers, hot dogs, pizza, and cold drinks all day. Don't forget to pick up your souvenirs! (Restrooms, ATM, and Guest Services available)

9. The Golden Pitcher Storm Experience - The Emperor of Mongolia invites you to a celebration of the inauguration of some new laws. If the weather turns nasty, it won't be a problem, because you're also invited to the Emperor's new storm-proof stronghold. It's still in testing though, so we can't say for sure it will be so strong after all…

10. Vasalisa's Spooky Journey - A young Russian girl and her magical doll Kookla run away into the woods. Look out lest you fall into the clutches of Baba Yaga, the fearsome ogre! Will Kookla's quick thinking be able to save you?

11. Follow the Buzz - Get a bee's-eye view of ancient Japan on this family-friendly - but still intense-roller coaster ride.

12. Simple Ivan - Inspired by the Russian simpleton folktale. Sit down and buckle up for a journey that will leave you more scrambled than Ivan's head!

B. Tastes of Asia - Sample fine Asian cuisine at its best. Menu items include wonton soup, beef noodles, soy milk, seafood, and much more. Souvenirs of your visit to Asia are available here. (Restrooms, ATMs, and Guest Services available)



13. Jack and the Beanstalk - Climb Jack's beanstalk and face off with the fearsome giant…250 feet in the air! Then free-fall back down to Earth at over 60 MPH. It's a journey you'll never forget! (Hint: check out this ride for the most spectacular view of the park)

14. Don Quixote - You have been selected as Alonso Quijana's personal service staff, and you must report to his mansion right away. His alter ego, Don Quixote, is at work again, fighting with windmills and other imaginary foes. But you may be in for more than you bargained for when Quixote takes you into his imagination with him! Can you survive the wonders-and horrors-of Don Quixote's imagination as you twist, turn and drop forwards (and backwards) through it?

15. The Globe Theatre - Visit this reconstruction of the Globe Theatre to see the best scenes from some of Shakespeare's greatest works. Look out for the exciting swordplay and pyrotechnics! See your Show Times & Schedules Guide for more information.

16. Orpheus - Embark on an epic (and frightening) journey with the Greek hero Orpheus as he tries to bring Eurydice back from the dead. You will have to face the perils and dangers of the Underwold as wrath of Hades surrounds you on this one-of-a-kind rollercoaster adventure. Face off against Cerberus the three-headed dog, Charon the gatekeeper of the Underworld, lost souls bent on revenge, and Hades himself as you drop vertically at speeds of up to 73 MPH.

C. The Royal Food Court - Come back to the medieval days and dine in this Royal Court. Be on the lookout for the notorious Robin Hood and his men…rumor has it they prowl these parts. Serving popcorn, pizza, iced tea, cold drinks, sub sandwiches, and more. Also pick up souvenirs and dine with the Knights of the Round Table! (Restrooms, ATMs, and Guest Services available)



17. The Egyptian Cinderella - A milder, slower coaster ride for those who aren't ready to take on the big ones yet. You take on the role of a falcon carrying the shoe of Rhodopis (the Egyptian Cinderella) as you soar high above Egypt through mild twists and turns.

18. Anansi Goes Fishing - The African trickster Anansi the talking spider gets tricked in this classic tale. You'll even get to see one of Anansi's tricks first hand when he sends you over a 30-foot drop backwards into the Act!vated Story Park lagoon.

19. Port to the Sea - Take your own rowboat out onto the Act!vated Story Park lagoon! Offers great views of Mystery Island.

20. Aesop's Fables -A maze adventure that will send you through some of Aesop's most beloved tales. If you like this, don't forget to check out the Knee-High Man!

D. Nile Marketplace - Quench your hunger and thirst as you dine on the famous Nile River. Menu offers pretzels, popcorn, iced tea, fruit popsicles, and much, much more. Also pick up sunglasses and other souvenirs. (Restrooms, ATMs, and Guest Services available)


South America

21. Story Mountain - The ancient Aztec gods have challenged you! Enter this mystical Aztec temple to discover yourself in whisked away to scenes from your favorite stories. But beware! You will only survive if you can pass the challenge they have placed before you. This miniature golf course will take you in and around the temple and the waterfall that cascades down its side.

22. Cortez & Montezuma - A hair-raising, jaw-dropping rollercoaster expedition into the lost jungle. The dueling rollercoasters, Cortez and Montezuma, will take you within inches of each other on a high-speed chase that will leave you breathless! It's two completely different rides, so make sure you ride each side at least once.


E. The Lost Temple - Inside this forgotten temple, feasts and treasures await. Serving large varieties of delicious food and drink all day. Souvenirs of your journey can be bought here. (Restrooms, ATMs, and Guest Services available)


World's Fair

23. World's FAIRis Wheel - Check out this small-scale replica of the world's first Ferris Wheel. The original was 60 stories high and took so long to get around, people actually held wedding ceremonies on board!

24. Fun Haus - Wander through twisted mazes and corridors. Is the room really sideways or is it just your imagination?

25. Sights of Wonder - Travel up 200 feet in the air for breathtaking panoramic views of the park in all its glory. A mild, gentle ride.

26. Carousel - Play on the horses, unicorns, and mythical creatures on this merry-go-round.

27. Helter-Skelter - Little ones will have a blast on this slide! (And so will their parents, if they're brave enough to ride.)

28. Inventing the Ice Cream Cone - Watch the ice cream cone be invented right before your eyes as live actors re-create how the first ice cream cone came to be. Complete with sets, costumes, audience participation, heroes to cheer and villains to boo!

F. Charles and Estelle's Ice Cream - Stop by here after the show and be the first ever to have a brand-new ice cream cone!

G. Zalabia! - Try the Lebanese treat that helped inspire the original ice cream cone.


Mystery Island

29. Nights of Mag!c - Gather here every night to witness a nighttime spectacular of fire, water, and magic. Viewing is available everywhere in the park, but for front-row seats, gather on Mystery Island or the Bridge to the World at least one hour before showtime.

30. Mystery Island - Many people have speculated, but no one actually knows what's on this lost island, shrouded in fog and mystery. What's here, we can't say for sure; perhaps it's nothing; perhaps it's everything. But whatever lies ahead, here's to your next great adventure.
